Anger Management Techniques-from AJ Novick Group, Inc.

We constantly get asked, “what anger management techniques work”? That answer is fairly complicated, as there are many techniques that can be used to help improves ones anger management skills. We typically give 8 main suggestions or techniques for anger management.

The first is improve communication skills. Ultimately, learning assertive communication will yield the highest probability for a productive conversation and the best results.

The next anger management technique is Empathy or improving emotional intelligence. In short, this is a skill which allows the individual to accurately sense the feelings of another person and then relate that understanding in a way that is meaningful.

Learning to respond instead of react. Don’t pass judgment, but rather respond after giving careful thought to the outcome.

Manage Expectations of self and others. Managing expectations and bettering understanding how to know what is reasonable is an excellent step towards anger management

Improving self-talk and ones internal dialog is also another excellent technique for reducing the anger response and creating a more positive self image.

Learning to forgive is also fundamental to reducing internal resentment towards self and others and can restore ones inner peace

Last, we recommend skills in stress management. If you can become less stressed and improve coping skills you will be less likely to get frustrated and angry.

  1. Great post Ari, a lot of people are increasingly stressed in the current financial climate and the time of year. Of course all of the steps take time to learn and use effectively, but simply starting with step one and getting moving in the right direction is important.
